Here are the goals and rules of a mastermind group that Greg sent out.
Greetings, everybody! I’m honored you all decided to be a part of the Mastermind session with me on Saturday and I’m glad to help you all get started. Below are some of the rules my group used to get started early on. As you get going, you’ll find the need to tweak things to suit your needs, but hopefully this will be a template to get you started:
Our MasterMind goals are:
To get great ideas from each other (“Hey, do you know a good graphic designer?”),
Have accountability on big projects (new book, new website by June 1 2016),
And most of all find encouragement as Catholic writers/bloggers/podcasters/speakers/business owners.
The weekly Mastermind meetings usually work best (most MasterMind literature recommends the weekly format) Give weekly a try for 1 month and then reassess weekly or every other week.
Make it a rule that you NEVER go over one hour. Everyone is busy. It starts at 10am (or whenever you decide) sharp and it ends at 11am sharp CST. Structure keeps it friendly. Scheduling additional meetings at 11am so it helps to end the Mastermind on time. Don’t ever go over.
For the first session, have each person take 10 minutes to explain your apostolate/business so that you can know where each of you are.
Then after the first session, start the normal MasterMind format of:
For this format go alphabetical to begin the “hot seat” session.
Abrahams
Boothe
Cucamonga, etc.
Use Google Hangout but you could also use GoToMeeting if y’all prefer that.
